The Department of Irrigation Engineering develops graduates with 21st-century skills in irrigation engineering, water resources engineering, soil and water conservation. The Department focuses on improving the sustainable utilisation and management of water resources for climate-resilient cropping systems and agricultural productivity. Through teaching, practical training, research, and industry collaboration, the Department prepares students to design, operate, and manage efficient irrigation and water management systems. Its programmes equip graduates with the engineering knowledge and hands-on skills needed to address challenges in irrigation, water conservation, and water resources management. The Diploma programme emphasises practical irrigation system management, while the BSc Irrigation Engineering programme develops innovators and future technology generators in the water and agricultural engineering sectors.
