Overview

The Public, International Relations, and Resource Mobilization Department is responsible for managing the institution's external relations, reputation, and resource development. The department serves as the primary interface between the university and its stakeholders, including governments, international students and organisations, alumni, donors, media, and the broader community.

Mission

To promote MUAST's image and interests globally, foster strategic partnerships, and mobilise resources to support the University's teaching, research, innovation, industrialisation and community service endeavours..

Goals

  • Increase international student enrolment and faculty exchange.
  • Secure funding for research, infrastructure and scholarships.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with industry, government and civil society.
  • Promote the university's research and innovation outputs.

Functions

    1. Public Relations
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the university's reputation and visibility.
  • Manage media relations, crisis communication, and issues management.
  • 2. International Relations
  • Foster partnerships with international universities, research institutions and organisations.
  • Develop and implement internationalisation strategies to attract global students, faculty, and researchers.
  • Facilitate international collaborations, mobility programmes and research initiatives.
  • Provide support to international students with respect to admissions, cultural adjustment and their overall welfare.
  • Assists international clientele (students, staff or visitors) with immigration support, accommodation, language support (for those from non-English speaking countries) and liaise with the respective embassies/ consulates.
  • 3. Resource Mobilisation
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure grants, donations and sponsorships.
  • Build relationships with donors, alumni and external stakeholders to support university activities.
  • Manage corporate partnerships, philanthropy and community engagement.
