Overview
The objective of the programme is to develop experts to advise senior management in industry, agriculture, government and the private sector on importance of resources conservation approaches and pollution prevention and mitigation matters. The degree holder will be a recognised professional in sustainable industrial processes, identification and assessment of pollutants as well as risk evaluation and control of industrial and agricultural wastes.
Mission
To produce competent graduates who can positively contribute to sustainable environmental management through coming up with technologically sound and innovative solutions to environmental problems.
Objectives
The specific objectives are to provide each student with:
- An understanding of the environmental sciences and determining the adequate responses to environmental issues.
- Specialization in a subject relevant to environmental sciences such as conservation biology, geographic information systems, toxicology, climate change, wildlife
- Conduct and manage environmental projects such as remediation, conservation and environmental impact assessments
