The Department of Animal Production Sciences is a dynamic unit that seeks to propel sustainable livestock production knowledge under the heritage- based education 5.0 principles of Teaching, Research, Innovation, Industrialisation and Community Service. It thrives to provide knowledge and practical skills relevant to society's needs with modules designed to make sure students acquire analytical and critical thinking.

To develop informed, relevant, innovative and passionate animal scientists through proactive teaching, learning and research.

To produce renowned graduates who are conversant with the basic principles in animal science and technology.

To promote ethical hands on practices in the production of all livestock species.
