Security Department is one of the important units in the University which is mandated with provision of security and safety services.
The Department is guided by its Strategic Plan which dovetails into the University’s Strategic Plan. The structure consists of the Head of Security who is styled Chief Security officer. The Chief Security Officer will be deputised by a Deputy Chief Security Officer. The structure will also have two Security Officers one responsible for Administration and the other for Crime and operations. There are also security sergeants and security guards.
The department is tasked with superintending over all security related issues in and around university campuses. Security offices are located at each and every campus for immediate goal delivery.
The Security Department envisages itself to be a leading University Security Service Provider in Zimbabwe by the year 2025.
To provide a quality, effective and efficient security service to the university thereby creating a conducive learning environment in an endeavor to make Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology a University of choice in producing globally competent graduates for the transformation of industries and communities.

Provide security to university property and staff

Maintain law and order at the University Campuses
Loss prevention by putting control measures and guidelines
Detect and investigate crime and other security breaches
Man and guard entry and exit points at all campuses
Patrol university premises with a view to prevent crime.
Currently the department has a staff compliment of eighteen (18) security guards of which one is a Security Sergeant.
The department has a substantive Chief Security Officer.
