Ms Ndlovu is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience as a
Librarian. She was first employed at the National Archives of Zimbabwe as an
Archivist in 1987. In 1989 she received a scholarship from the Ford
to study Library Science in the UK and returned to the National Archives of
Zimbabwe to progress as a National Bibliographer which resulted in the production
of the Zimbabwe National Bibliography for 1993 and 1994.
She joined the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) Library in 1995 as an Assistant Librarian and left for Solusi University
in 1997 to become a Senior Assistant Librarian. In February 2000, she joined Midlands State
University (MSU) in Gweru and served as a Sub Librarian as well as the Pioneer University
Librarian in 2002. Ms Ndlovu went on to join the then Polytechnic of Namibia, Windhoek
(Namibia University of Science and Technology) as Chief Librarian and managed the transition
of the Polytechnic Library to become a University Library by June 2009. In 2011, she became the
Inaugural University Librarian at the Lupane State University up to March 2023. Ms Ndlovu became
the Founding University Librarian of MUAST in July 2024.
Ms Ndlovu is a member of the Zimbabwe Library Association (ZimLA), the Zimbabwe University Libraries
Consortium (ZULC), the African Library Association (AfLIA) and the International Federation of Library
Associations and Institutions (IFLA). Throughout her professional career, Ms Ndlovu has presented several
papers at conferences, namely: “Embedded Librarianship: The Key to Unlocking the Research Potential at the
Lupane State University” in Bozen-Bolzano, Italy; “Standardisation and Quality in Libraries: Performance
Measurement: an overview” at the Zimbabwe Library Association; “Skating on thin ice: the resilience of Zimbabwean
Libraries during the decade 2000 to 2010” in San Juan, Puerto Rico, just to mention a few.
