MUAST AND KUSHPIK SIGN AN MOU TO ENHANCE COLLABORATIONS
ON Tuesday the 19th of November 2019, the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) signed an Associate Status Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kushinga Phikelela Polytechnic (KushPhik). The Five year MoU will facilitate the administration of University approved courses and University conferred degree programmes of study in the Faculty of Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship to be offered at the Polytechnic.

EXAMS ARE HERE!
THE month of November marks the edge of the semester as both lecturers and students prepare for exams. Lecturers play a huge role in students’ performance during exams. Students want to meet, and often exceed expectations that are set by their lecturers and to satisfy parents. However, lecturers and parents need to be watchful about how they convey these expectations so as to not be unduly pressurizing, thus becoming an added source of stress for the student. Being mindful about a few things when your students are preparing for exams may be helpful at every stage.

Vice Chancellor Tours University Projects
The Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) Vice Chancellor, Professor Justice Nyamangara toured University projects on Wednesday, the 16th of October 2019. This is a routine monitoring and evaluation exercise that the Vice Chanellor does for assessing University projects. In an effort to ensure that targets are met, Professor Nyamangara toured projects at both Cloverhill and Dozmerry Campuses.

MUAST New Council Induction workshop held
The Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology held an Induction Workshop for its second Council at the Hope/Fay Hotel on the 26th of September 2019. The purpose of the Induction Workshop was to assist the Councillors to get an appreciation on the university governance systems and operations. The Workshop also centred on the roles of the government, councilors and the university management for the effective running of the institution. The University invited Dr Thomas Brighton Bhebhe and Dr Obert Sifile seasoned administrators from the Chinhoyi University of Technology.Dr Bhebhe presented on the role of University Councils in Zimbabwe while Dr Obert Sifile presented on the financial governing systems of the Universities.

MUAST AND MUKUBA UNIVERSITY SIGN AN MOU
Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of Academic Cooperation with Mukuba University (MKU) on the 5th of September 2019 in Zambia.MUAST Vice Chancellor, Professor Justice Nyamangara, Dr Denice Chikwanda the Acting Business Development Manager, Mr Chenjerai Muchenje, the Director of Marketing, Public and International Relations made up the team that went to Zambia. Prof Florence Tailoka, the Head of Studies and Mr Mwala Sheba, the Acting Registrar signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Mukuba University.The two institutions are exploring future collaborative opportunities in teaching, research, staff and student exchange. In light of this Memorandum, the two young institutions intend to offer joint Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs to support each other.

ZIMCHE CEO VISITS MUAST
PROFESSOR Kuzvinetsa Peter Dzvimbo, the Chief Executive Officer of Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) paid a visit at the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) on Friday the 23rd of August 2019. Professor Dzvimbo toured the Dozmery campus before visiting the CSC campus. He was welcomed by Professor Justice Nyamangara, the MUAST Vice Chancellor and his management team at the Dozmery campus. The ZIMCHE Chief Executive Officer also took an opportunity of his visit to meet the MUAST academic staff and made a presentation to Senate and academic staff on the functions of ZIMCHE and its expectations from the academics.

MUAST PARTICIPATES IN THE AUGUST NATIONAL CLEAN UP
In an effort to support the national clean up initiative, the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) took part in August 2019 National Environment Cleaning Day in Marondera.Following the monthly clean-up day declaration by his Excellency, the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa,the 2nd of August 2019 was the clean-up day for the month of August.
